Calvary Chapel Dolphin Coast
In 2022, whilst living in western Kenya and having been attending Calvary Chapel Eldoret for about 3 years (where Storm was an assistant pastor), the Lord stirred Storm's heart to plant a Calvary Chapel Church in Ballito. Storm and Sophie did not know anyone in Ballito, but they knew they needed to go, so they packed their bags and off they went! The young family (of 4 at the time) arrived in Ballito in October 2022 and CCDC held its first meeting in December, 2022.
Our Pastor - Storm Lindenberg
Pastor Storm grew up in Umhlanga but then lived in the UK for 12 years, where he completed university and went on to work for a law firm in London.​
As a young adult, Storm finally surrendered to the Lord after knowing that he had been rebelling against Him for many years. Though he had had a faith for almost as long as he could remember, he knew his faith had been lukewarm at best. He had been resisting the Lord and he knew that he couldn't carry on living in the world anymore. With this decision, many things changed in his life and he grew in his relationship with the Lord. However, despite attending a vibrant local church he very soon realized that he was desperately missing out on sound, in-depth biblical teaching. His desire to be taught the Word of God was increasing, but he was not being 'fed'.
It was during this time that he met Sophie. They were both serious about the Lord and had very similar God-given passions and ambitions for life. Having stopped pursuing the things of the world, the Lord unexpectedly brought them together and filled their lives with meaning, purpose and fulfillment. They decided that after getting married, they would move to Kenya and set up an organization to help orphaned young adults.

So in January 2019, Storm and Sophie moved to Kenya to set up New Routes Foundation. They were not sent by any church nor organization and just started from scratch. After travelling through various parts of Kenya, they eventually settled in Eldoret, in western Kenya, where they felt the Lord wanted them.​ Before leaving for Kenya, they knew they wanted to find a local church to become imbedded in - even if there were many cultural differences and things they weren't used to. Almost as soon as they arrived in Eldoret, they stumbled across a church called Calvary Chapel. Neither of them had ever heard of this church, but they decided to give it a try.

Suddenly it was like a deep hunger and thirst were satisfied. They knew they had been desperately missing a church where the Bible was taught fully and thoroughly, where worship was God-centred, and where fellowship and discipleship were priorities in every day life. They had no idea just how deep all those cravings really were though until they started experiencing it. As time went on, the Lord only continued to open their eyes to how church is really supposed to be - a place of great unity, humbleness, love, servant-heartedness and passion for the Lord.

Storm and Sophie had unexpectedly found a church on the mission field that taught the Bible with accuracy and to the level of depth they had been searching for. Storm was discipled by the Senior Pastor, Josh Lawrence, and Sophie soon became friends with Pastor Josh's wife, Kelsey.​ Ever since that first Sunday, God gave Storm a very strong desire to hear His Word being taught without hindrance, in all its fullness, richness, and beauty. Over the next 3 years, that desire developed into a conviction to teach His Word to others - where they too could experience the blessing of being taught it fully and clearly - just as he had. Storm is also very passionate about close fellowship and discipleship - we are to do the Christian walk hand in hand, being in each other's company regularly, and not living in isolation.

Pastor Storm was ordained at Calvary Chapel Eldoret in February 2022. Later that year, him and his family moved to Ballito to establish Calvary Chapel Dolphin Coast, which held its first meeting in December, 2022. Storm believes there is a great need in Ballito and surrounds for in-depth Bible teaching. He is convinced that biblical exposition is the only way that we are able to properly understand and apply God’s Word to us - from Genesis to Revelation. ​This is what underlines his passion for all those living on the Dolphin Coast to have the opportunity to hear the Bible taught verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book - for the glory of God.
